I completely understand people’s disgust with Maxine Waters, Frederica Wilson, Barack Obama, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson; for I too believe they are self-serving propagandists who incite racial division for political and financial gain. However, what I don’t agree with is the decision by some Facebook friends to use racial slurs or any other unnecessary epithets, albeit for humorous effect or not, to describe them. It’s one thing to disagree with one’s politics, it’s an entirely different matter to insult and degrade their very existence; their humanity. Such ignorance only invalidates our message while giving credence to the perpetual stereotype fabricated by our leftist critics, who really are intolerant and racist, that conservatives are hateful bigots. As we both know, that is simply not true! I have many friends, from all walks of life, and whether or not I agree with their views I would never use such words to violate their trust or dignity. We, above all others, are so much better than such blatant ignominy and therefore must hold ourselves to the highest of standards. Wit and eloquence not only trumps slander and hate, it empowers and transcends the most ingrained misconceptions about conservatism. This is not a staged attempt to be self-righteous or politically correct, merely my innate desire to be a decent human being. Despite our disagreements, cultural differences and the vile actions of the few, we are all God's children summoned to a higher calling of temperance and compassion. As always, I welcome all races, colors, and creeds – which includes the likes of Ben Carson, Allen West, Thomas Sowell, Condi Rice, Mia Love, & Tim Scott – to join in the fight to restore America! For the 99% of my fellow conservatives who always conduct themselves in a respectful and civil manner, treating everyone with the same degree of decorum.
